The Majorelle Botanical Garden is one of the most visited places in Marrakech. Located in the Guéliz district, rue Yves Saint Laurent, it dazzles with its bold colors and its lush green setting, completely cut off from the outside world. It was created in 1931 by Jacques Majorelle, a French orientalist painter.

In 1980, the famous french Couturier Yves Saint Laurent and his husband Pierre Bergér bought  the garden and the house located in it. They redecorated the house and called it Villa Oasis. Yves Saint Laurent was buried in the garden after his dead in 2008.

Description

Artist bio:

Agnès GAUTHEY-MINELLA

After an active career in Human Resources, the retirement offered me the opportunity to discover in a more concrete way the world of the Arts, during discoveries of magnificent museums or exhibitions around the world (Paris, Florence, Amsterdam , New York, etc.).

Withdrawn in the South of France, I had the chance to meet a painter and teacher friend who introduced me to the joys and techniques of drawing and oil painting. She was able to share her passion with me and very gently transmit to me this desire to deepen this art!

I discovered painting as a sweet moment of escape! Moments when I am alone in the world with my canvas, my tubes and my brushes, gradually advancing towards the final goal. It is a permanent learning but constant happiness.
