Artist Bio:
Jean-bernard Thiele, Fashion, Portraits, and Fine Art Photographer born in Strasbourg and based in Paris. JB has created campaigns for Cartier, Jean-Paul Gaulthier, Agatha, Demak’up, Gauloises, Mercedes Benz, and Decathlon.
This photograph is part of a new exhibition: CIWARA
The CIWARA exhibition sublimates the culture of interbreeding by offering a reinterpretation of the African mask. The XL format shots by photographer JB THIELE, in collaboration with Philippe Licin, reveal protruding bodies with elegantly lit skin under a black and white filter. Silhouettes of women who, through their malleable and supple postures, fill the frame and appear almost monumental to us. On these plots of bare flesh, only two elements stand out: bewitching tattoos, sometimes made of shapes, sometimes of words, and African masks affixed to the heads of the models. An intoxicating experience!
