Photographer PAOLA SPENCER
I was born in Pisa, Italy in 1981. I am an American and Italian citizen of African American descent. Art is my life, and I define my photographic work as dance-theatre and poetics. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence with my project “La Bellezza nell’ Aria”, my work on feminine beauty natural. Caravaggio and 16th century paintings have influenced my work, like everyday life.

My work focuses on feminine beauty where I try to capture the inner beauty which I called Air. La Bellezza è nell’Aria, is my personal project where I look for the simple gesture, without posing or retouching post production. Models are usually some of my friends, role models or people I met while walking down the street who inspire me
I am the costume designer and the director of my photos: research of location, styling and makeup.
