Lisbeth Monéton, France

Founder and President

Hello and welcome,

I’m Lisbeth, Danish, married to Pierre, mother to 2 sons.. and grandmother.

I’m an international globetrotter, having lived in different countries all over the world. Now living in the beautiful South of France.

I’m an enthusiastic entrepreneur with several businesses behind me.I am a mindful thinker and I believe in women and the power we can create together.

I’m a creative soul, loving art practicing both artistic painting and photography and selling my art for the benefice of  A WISH FOR HUMANITY. www.lisbethmoneton.com

My journey towards creating A Wish for Humanity started in 2011.

After 25 years with our own fashion business in Denmark, and several years living and working abroad, my husband Pierre and I signed up for 4 years partnership in a Balsa Company in Papua New Guinea, which is located North of Australia.

Little did we know, when we embarked in PNG on September 16th 2011, that this journey should change our lives for ever.

First of all, to live in such a challenging and poor country was a culture chock of huge format coming from well functioning Europe. Second, we both should learn during our stay, how much you actually can do to help the local population and how primordial education is to give a better life for the people living in  underdeveloped countries.

Having been working in the business  world all my life, I didn’t have the formation or knowledge of doing social work.

However, my role in the PNG company was community worker, assuring a good connection with the local authorities as well as organizing better living conditions for our local employees.

I rapidly started out with assuring electricity, clean water and security for 300 of our employees living in our compounds. I also set up awareness programs concerning sexual abuse, safe childbirth, women’s rights etc for our female employees.

In the meanwhile, I saw a need for education of  the small children under the age of 7 not going to school. I created 2 play schools for about 40  children as well as supporting rural English speaking schools.

It was probably the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life and when returning to Europe in 2015, I was determined to start a charity organization to continue my work in PNG.

However, searching humanitarian organizations in the world, I realized, that instead of starting one more, I’d rather help some of the organization already in place. I was also amazed of the visionary women , who overcame all obstacles and devoted their lives to making a life changing impact for others.

Therefore, I started WOMEN FOR HUMANITY in 2020 with the goal to share these women’s amazing stories.

After several encouragement to go even further, I decided to start a fundraising organisation in order to help women-led charities concentrating on the field work where they literally save lives instead of raising money.

In 2021, Therese Brown joined me to develop the project and in November 2021, the foundation, A WISH FOR HUMANITY , registered in France was born. We decided to concentrate on charities with the concern of education, security and life-saving impacts for women and children in under developed countries.

We look forward to sharing this exciting  journey with you and we believe that together  we can make lives better for millions of people.

With love for humanity,
Lisbeth
