Description
Photographer: Frank Scheil, Germany
Trained in wholesale and foreign trade, business economist (VWA) and since 2011 self-employed as a commercial agent for metal products.
It all started when my grandfather taught me how to take photos about 40 years ago.
Today, I am particularly enthusiastic about motifs that I can shoot without time pressure and hectic; that slow me down, so to speak. I especially like to photograph the natural decay of buildings and machines – so-called lost places. I attach great importance to an aesthetic, even artistic presentation, without arranging the situation. My photographs are always snapshots of the found situation.
Other photographic preferences are street photography, landscape photography and long exposures.
Actually, I like to try out different themes, motifs and techniques; I like to leave my photographic comfort zone. True to the motto “you never know if you didn’t try”, I like to get to know all spectrums of photography and then see what else I enjoy.
All in all, I acquired my current knowledge largely self-taught; supplemented by the one or other good workshop.
